Parking in Queen Anne
Queen Anne was one of Seattle’s earliest neighborhoods, and some of the city’s oldest architecture still stands there today. In fact, the area’s name can be credited to the “Queen Anne” style houses that were imported into the area in the late 19th century. The Queen Anne style contains elements of earlier English styles, including Old English and Tudor. Beneath the Queen Anne Style in America, one also finds Stick, Eastlake, and Shingle styles. Amidst the upscale, stylish homes in the neighborhood, you will find little parking in Queen Anne. Many of the residential neighborhoods do not allow overnight parking.
Making parking in Queen Anne even more difficult is the fact that Seattle Pacific University is also located nearby. Seattle Pacific University is a Christian University near the Fremont section of Seattle. Its primary campus is located in Queen Anne, and it also operated a field station on Blakely Island and a retreat facility on Whidbey Island. Four residence halls, a four-floor library, and the REX athletic center all make up the Queen Anne campus.
